From October 3 to 7th, visitors to the reading hall of the Chernivtsi Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Mykhailo Ivasiuk have a unique opportunity not only to visit the library, but also to take wonderful photos in the rooms with preserved ancient interiors.

This interesting offer for visitors was decided to be presented on the eve of the City Day and in honor of the All-Ukrainian Library Day. The authentic reading hall is located at 14 Virmenska Street in a building that is an architectural monument of the 19th century.

There is a beautiful staircase with carved dark wood handrails, as well as antique fireplaces, furniture, luxurious stained glass windows and mirrors.

This incredible location is little-known not only to tourists but also to the local residents. It is said that once it was a private house of a psychiatrist from Chernivtsi. Later, it housed the Belgian and then the Embassy consulate. At some point, it also served as the city's pediatric clinic. However, the longest-serving purpose of this building was as a place where future and practicing doctors acquired knowledge, as it housed a medical library. Nevertheless, the history of this building has not been fully explored yet.

Today it is the reading room of the Mykhailo Ivasiuk Regional Library. On the occasion of their professional holiday, the library staff decided to entertain all their visitors. They will open the doors to everyone and give them the opportunity to take beautiful photos. They will even suggest good angles. This option will be available until October 7. If you want to take advantage of the opportunity, you can visit the library's reading room on weekdays from 9:00 to 6:00 PM
