A comedy festival return to Chernivtsi. The festival “Golden Applause of Bukovyna” will take place at the Chernivtsi Regional Music and Drama Theater named after Olha Kobylianska on November 27-30

Due to the difficult realities of the Ukrainian present, the festival’s focus has changed. The central theme of the festival will be "Comedy in Time of War". Theaters from frontline cities will also take part in the “Golden Applause”, most of which will visit Chernivtsi for the first time.

The 15th comedy festival “Golden Applause of Bukovyna” will open symbolically on Olha Kobylianska's birthday. The festival will last for 4 days, but 8 performances will be staged on the main stage and on the theater's workshop stage.

Program of performances on the main stage:

November 27 at 18:30 – surrealist absurdity “They’re not there”. Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater;

November 28 at 18:30 – tragicomedy “#GoingCan’tStay”. Dnipro Drama Youth Theater "We Believe!";

November 29 at 18:30 – comedy in 2 acts “My Wife’s Husband”. Kharkiv “P.S.” Theater.

November 30 at 18:30 – satirical comedy “Konotop Witch”. Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater.

November 27 at 16:30 - Ukrainian folk farce of the war times "Good luck". 16+. Kharkiv State Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater named after Taras Shevchenko;

November 28 at 16:30 - comedy extravaganza "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I. K. Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television;

November 29 at 16:30 - one-man show in 1 act "Dance with a double bass". Dnipropetrovs'k Regional Academic Youth Theater;

November 30, at 16:30 - tragicomedy "The Magnificent Century. The Merry One". Chernivtsi Regional Music and Drama Theater named after Olga Kobylianska.
