During this tour, we will explore and visit the preserved houses of worship of various religious denominations in Chernivtsi, many of which remain active to this day.

Join us as we discover these remarkable monuments of sacred architecture:

  • The Wooden Church of St. Nicholas (built in 1607) – the only surviving church from the Moldavian-Turkish era in Chernivtsi.
  • The Greek Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, home to the "Hope of the Hopeless" icon, which is over 400 years old.
  • St. Nicholas Cathedral, famous for its twisted domes, built in 1939 and inspired by a masterpiece of Romanian medieval architecture.
  • The Parish Church of St. Paraskeva, the first Orthodox stone church in Chernivtsi.
  • The Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the first stone church in Chernivtsi’s historic center.

Additionally, you will learn about the fate of "The Temple" (Tempel Synagogue)—once one of the most beautiful synagogues in Europe.
