City Sightseeing Tour
A sightseeing tour is an introduction to the city, its history, interesting personalities, architecture and art, as well as the peculiarities of the character, traditions, cuisine and culture of Chernivtsi residents. Every Sunday you can take part in such a tour for free. It starts at 11: 45. The meeting place is near the City Hall (1, Central Square).

Residence of Bukovina Metropolitans-the Pearl of Chernivtsi
The tour involves getting acquainted with an architectural monument of national significance, a masterpiece of old Chernivtsi. Former residence of the Orthodox metropolitans of Bukovina and Dalmatia, built in 1864-1882 by the Austrian architect Yosef Glavka, rightly considered a symbol of the city. The luxurious ensemble of the residence impresses with an unusual view, resembling a medieval castle.

Chernivtsi necropolis
The tour takes place on the territory of the historical and cultural reserve of Christian and Jewish cemeteries, which are located on thr top of Mount Horech, on the outskirts of Chernivtsi. Chernivtsi necropolis is an impressive monument to the history of the city. The Jewish cemetery in Chernivtsi is considered to be the largest surviving Jewish cemetery in Europe.

Pearl Of Bukovina-Metropolitan Residence

The most monumental building of the city, the heritage and pride of Chernivtsi is the famous architectural ensemble of the Residence of the Orthodox Metropolitans of Bukovyna and Dalmatia. It has been the center of spirituality and enlightenment of Chernivtsi. The beauty of it, now it’s Chernivtsi National University named after Fedkovych, conquers at first sight. This is a real architectural marvel that you will not see anywhere else.

City Hall

The central square is the heart of Chernivtsi, from which the main streets-arteries of the city diverge. The City Hall is the most magnificent building of the ensemble of the square. The three-story building with a two-story tower, which reaches a height of 50 meters, was built in 1843-1847 by German architect Adolf Marin.

One of the most beautiful places in Chernivtsi is the ensemble of the Theater Square with granite descents to the square in the middle. Olha Kobylianska Music and Drama Theater is a masterpiece, the dominant building of the cozy square. For over a century, citizens have been proud of an extremely beautiful monumental building.

Secrets Of Sadgora
Sadhora is a small town on the left bank of the River Prut, which has been a part of Chernivtsi since 1965. It was founded during the Russian -Turkish War (in 1771). During this period, Baron Mykola Gartenberg built a mint on the outskirts of Chernivtsi. Since Gartenberg literally meant "Garden Mountain", the craft settlement became known as Sadhora.
