Restaurant "Hopachok"
Hospitable restaurant "Hopachok" is a cozy place of ethnic and modern Ukrainian cuisine. So, if you are wondering where to taste traditional dishes in Chernivtsi that delight with their unusual taste, the choice is obvious.
The cuisine of Hopachok is based on local products, and the recipes of the dishes presented on the menu have been passed down from generation to generation by inventive Bukovyna housewives.
Hopachok restaurant is located in the center of Chernivtsi, not far from the Jesuit Church. The restaurant is characterized by true Bukovinian hospitality, coziness and sincerity. The interior and decor of the halls immerse you in the colorful atmosphere of Ukrainian traditions.
Each dish is a real culinary masterpiece that intertwines tradition and modernity. Banush, mamalyha, Ukrainian borscht, bograch, tender stuffed cabbage rolls from the oven, Bukovinian pies... The choice is huge.
You can taste an authentic Bukovinian dish - stuffing - exclusively at Hopachok. We also recommend trying taquitura - slices of tender veal, bright vegetables in a sauce of tomatoes sweetened with honey. The takitura is placed on mamalyha and sprinkled with cheese.
Of course, it's worth trying their signature dishes: crispy-fried brain in a crunchy crust with goji berry sauce; blood sausage with roasted bell pepper and feta cheese; veal delicacies in sour cream with wild mushrooms, served with a steamed potato pie. We also recommend dishes from the oven: intricately crafted cabbage rolls, rabbit loin, and rabbit leg.
If you want to try forshmak, it is also on the menu. It is prepared in two ways: "the way my mother cooks" - with homemade butter, baked "yonas" (a type of apple) and caramelized onions, and according to the recipe of Ms. Loli Landa from Jerusalem. To try it, just say the magic words to the waiter: "Duo of original forshmak".
Hopachok has craft liqueurs of its own production. Among the ladies, cherry is a favorite, but the Cossacks prefer horseradish. The assortment also includes citrine, spotykachka, becherovka, and sea buckthorn. You can try the liqueurs both for dinner and as a gift, as a wonderful souvenir from Chernivtsi.
"Steamed dumplings with blueberries", "vertuta in Khotyn manner with grated rouge and nuts" - for dessert you can taste a variety of Bukovinian delicacies. Colostrum may be unusual for gourmet receptors. If you're not ready for experiments, try the cheesecake made by a burgomist cook with homemade cream cheese and cherries. This dish was once enjoyed by the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph himself!
