The Twin Houses are a well-known architectural landmark of Chernivtsi. These two symmetrical buildings create the illusion of being mirror images of one another. Designed in the classical style with elements of Byzantine Baroque and Renaissance, they stand out for their unique and visually striking appearance.

According to legend, a local resident built these houses for his twin sons, creating identical homes for each and settling in between them so he could stay close. In reality, however, this is not two separate buildings but a single U-shaped structure. The balconies face each other so closely that it seems neighbors could simply walk from one apartment to another across the lodges.
