Not every city can boast of a pharmacy that has been operating for more than 100 years. Such a pharmacy-museum embodies the history of the development of pharmaceutical business in Chernivtsi. The neoclassical house was built in 1900 by order of the Shymonovychi family, and a pharmacy was opened in three years.

The museum is most proud of old pharmacy furniture - real works of art, which are over 100 years old. Also noteworthy is the 1902 alcoholmeter, a frying pan used to make activated carbon, copper and brass mortars, Austrian barbells, a cocoa grinder, and a pill maker. Today it is the only operating pharmacy in Chernivtsi, where dosage forms are still prepared to order.
