National Nature Park “Cheremosky”
Cheremosky National Nature Park covers the territory of the Chyvchyno-Marmaros massif - the ridges of Chorny Dil and Zhupany. These include the reserves of national importance "Black Dil", "Molochnobratsky Karst Massif" and the regional landscape park "Cheremosky". The highlight of the park is its physical and geographical location in almost untouched areas of nature with specific climatic conditions. It is dominated by pure European spruce forests, which belong to the group of mountain dark coniferous forests. The total area of the park is 7117.5 hectares. Fauna of the park is rich and diverse. Invertebrates alone number at least 5,000 species and 147 those of vertebrate species. Of these, 34 representatives are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. The territory of the park attracts the attention of visitors not only by nature, but also by monuments of history and architecture, folk crafts (pottery), places of life and activities of famous people. On the territory of the park is one of the highest peaks of the Bukovynian Carpathians - Mount Tomnatyk (1565 m above the sea level). The mountain attracts tourists because of the location of the former military facility "Pamir". Mount Tomnatyk is home to the highest mountain shrine in the Bukovyna region - the Chapel of the Holy Great Martyr Eustace Placida, who was the patron and guardian of the animal world, located at an altitude of 1340 m above the sea level. On the territory of "Cheremosky", in the area of Sarata village there is home to the most picturesque flower valley in the Bukovynian Carpathians - the "Valley of Gladiolus", where in summer you can see the mass flowering of wild gladiolus - Red Book species - Gladiolus imbricatus. On the ridges of Yarovytsia, Zhupany in the "Saffron Valley" you can see the picturesque flowering of Heifel saffron. The "Edelweiss top" is also attractive for tourists, where the highest mountain flower of the Bukovynian Carpathians - edelweiss grows. This flower of love grows at an altitude of 1445 m above the sea level on top of the Big Stone.
