Cinderella Cave
Cinderella Cave stretches for tens of kilometers in the two countries. The entrance to the cave is located near the village of Kriva in Moldova, and most of it is in Ukraine. On the part of Ukraine, they also began to develop the entrance to the cave - near the village of Podvirne, Chernivtsi region. The length of the explored passages of the cave is about 91 kilometers. Cinderella Cave is the third longest gypsum cave in the world. Cinderella Cave was discovered in 1977. At first, speleologists did not dare to inspect the cave, because the entrance to it was very dirty. That's why it was called Cinderella.
By the middle of the 20th century, the cave was flooded, and in some parts of it the water is still there. When the water subsided, huge underground galleries opened without exaggeration. Interestingly, the halls and galleries are covered with a layer of clay, there are shades of red, white, black, green, blue. Unusual clay figures are now installed on some routes. There is also a statue of Cinderella herself. The mineral bernesite was found in the cave. It is usually found at the bottom of deep ocean basins. How its deposits ended up on land is a mystery. An accumulation of radon, a radioactive gas, was also recorded in the Cinderella Cave. Due to its unique three-level structure, sediments, "Cinderella" is of great scientific value. This dungeon consists of numerous abnormally large galleries, large and small halls connected by narrow passages. In some places the cave is 3-5 meters wide and of the same height. Some galleries have their own names, such as "One Hundred Meter Hall", "Cinderella Hall", "Column Hall". The largest hall is 170 meters long and 65 meters wide. In addition, about two dozen underground lakes were found here, which later received their names, in particular, "Blue Lake", "Dinosaur Lake". By the way, the water in them is rich in minerals and can have a healing effect. The cave has almost inexhaustible reserves of speleological resources, unique secondary mineral deposits and formations which are suitable for integrated use. Cinderella Cave was considered a contender for the competition "Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine".
