Swan Lake
Swan Lake is located on the outskirts of the small village of Chortoryia, which is known among tourists for its architectural monuments and beautiful nature. The small village in the Kitsman region is primarily known as the birthplace of Ukrainian film actor Ivan Mykolaichuk. It is associated with the story of swans on the lake, who come here with the onset of cold weather. In the winter of 1987, the famous actor died, and the villagers claim that his soul was transformed into a big bird and flew home.
Swan Lake is a nature reserve consisting of a cascade of reservoirs. Swan Lake is one of such wonderful places, which in autumn is almost completely inhabited by beautiful white birds. The secret of the reservoirs is that at their bottom there are hot springs, due to which the water in the lakes does not freeze. That is why snow-white swans fly to Chortoryia to spend the winter there. It has become the largest wintering ground for swans in the country.
Swan Lake in the village of Chortoryia has long been a natural heratage of Bukovyna. In winter, it is one of the few tourist "highlights" that can be visited by whole families. Royal birds liked these ponds because of the warm underground streams.
