The Natural History Museum of the Yuri Fedkovych National University of Chernivtsi was established in 2012 on the basis of zoological and geological-geographical museums that is one of the oldest university museums in Ukraine.
The collections of the zoological department of the museum are of exceptional scientific, historical and cultural significance. The unique exhibits include almost 19,000 specimens of animals, most of which have been collected since 1872. Also the collections of minerals and petrographic samples are very interesting, they were collected from regions around the globe, and some - of extraterrestrial origin. There are also many unique specimens and nuggets.
