Program of events to mark World Vyshyvanka Day in Chernivtsi
On May 18, the following events will be held in Chernivtsi, the city where the holiday was born:
9.00 - Action "Born in vyshyvankas". Handing over embroidered shirts for newborn Ukrainians (City Clinical Maternity Hospital #2, 8 Rivnenska St.).
12.00 - Presentation of the reconstruction project of the Embroidery Day Square (with the participation of the architectural company AddLine group and representatives of the Chernivtsi City Council), (Embroidery Day Square)
13.00 - Presentation of the first recreated embroidered shirt by Olha Kobylianska (actress Rima Ziubina as an ambassador) within the project "Embroidery in the clothes of prominent Ukrainians" (curator of the project - Tetiana Zez), (Museum of Vyshyvanka, Popovycha St., 2).
14.00 - Presentation of the book "Imperishable" (with the participation of Lesya Voroniuk, Mykola Shkriblyak, Vira Kytaygorodska, Oksana Mykytyuk, Daryna Stasiuk, "Goyra Group"), (Museum of Vyshyvanka, 2 Popovycha St.)
13.00 - 16.00 - Exhibition "Rescued" (embroidered shirts and towels from the de-occupied villages of Kharkiv region rescued by the military) (Vyshyvanka Museum, 2 Popovycha St.)
16.00 - 17.00 - Creative meeting "Vyshyvanka - the clothes of the Ukrainian cultural elite" (Volodymyr Ivasyuk Memorial Museum, 40 Ivan Dziuba St., sq. 1)
19.00 - Screening of the documentary film "The Nation's Legacy" with the participation of the creative team (Bukovyna Center for Culture and Art, 1A Hlavky St.)
