Zhovtnevyi Park in Chernivtsi is an ideal place to hide from everyday routine and problems. Here, among shady alleys and mirror lakes, you want to stop, relax a bit and admire the natural beauty. Zhovtnevyi Park in Chernivtsi is the largest city park (70 hectares) and an architectural monument of local significance.

The Botanical Garden of Chernivtsi National University is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Ukraine. It was founded in the second half of the XIX century (in 1877), at a time when Bukovyna as a crown duchy was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Botanical Garden of Chernivtsi National University is a real museum of living plants from different ecological and geographical areas of the world.

The museum presents 9 exhibition halls, which are divided into two parts: literary and memorial. On the catwalks of the museum are exhibited household items, furniture, samples of festive Hutsul clothing, which convey the spirit of the era in which Yuri Fedkovych lived and worked.

The collections of the zoological department of the museum are of exceptional scientific, historical and cultural significance. The unique exhibits include almost 19,000 specimens of animals, most of which have been collected since 1872. For example, the skeleton of a 27-meter blue whale, a New Zealand gutter, a helmet-bearing cassowary, the skeleton of an African ostrich, and tropical butterflies were collected in expeditions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The museum's exposition covers the period from the end of the 18th century to the middle of the 20th century. These are, first of all, documents and materials - photographs, official documents of authorities, societies, administrations of Jewish communities, private letters - found in the funds of public archives and libraries of Ukraine and other countries.

The museum is most proud of old pharmacy furniture - real works of art, which are over 100 years old. Also noteworthy is the 1902 alcoholmeter, a frying pan used to make activated carbon, copper and brass mortars, Austrian barbells, a cocoa grinder, and a pill maker.

The museum has two expositions that will take your breath away from connoisseurs. The first one introduces the visitor to the history of Aviation, the second one - to Space Research. Special attention should be paid to the hall dedicated to the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine - Leonid Kadenyuk.
